I was born in Worksop in 1989 and moved to the Cotswolds when I was six years old.
In my younger days I was an avid music gig goer, and could be found in the mosh pit at rock festivals! I was also a keen footballer until about the age of 12, when my father got me in to cycling: he used to train and race for Evesham Wheelers.
Although I carried on playing all sorts of sports at school, cycling was the main focus and I went straight into racing at a national level as a youngster, and even went to Holland and Ireland too. I progressed through youth and Junior ranks while studying, competing against household names like Luke Rowe, Peter Kennaugh and Adam Blythe - it was pretty tough!
My most memorable cycling moments include coming 20th in the 2011 National Championships (Bradley Wiggins won) and 4th in the Stockton Premier Calendar in 2013.
My hopes for this year are to win some bike races and help support the team as much as possible - and be injury free! Winning the Evesham Road race is my first target - I have finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th so now it’s time for 1st place I think! Retaining the Southern Divisional title again would be a good end to the season.
