I started racing on two wheels at the age of 10 following in the footsteps of my brother Tom, and uncle -proving racing was in the blood.
I competed at cyclocross then time trials until 16, winning National titles for three years on the trot in my age category over 10 and 25 mile TT's, achieving personal bests of 20.39 for 10 miles and 53.55 for 25 miles.
My attention soon turned to road racing, competing in the Junior National series finishing in top 10 placings amongst some who would eventually end up being today's world tour pro cyclists: the Yates brothers, Owain Doull and Hugh Carthy being a few well known names who I managed to beat on a few occasions. What went wrong, you may ask!
With a few wins since then at 2/3 & 4 category races, and top 10's in E1,2,3 races, I'm happy to be back with Cotswold Cycles-TREK for 2017 and hoping for a successful season myself, and helping the other lads when I can.
